Online Database Resources

Use the Britannica School databases listed below to find encyclopedia articles with images, maps, and other learning materials.  There are three different levels to choose from and each has audio to accompany the articles.

Virtual Tours

​Explore the world in photos with Google Maps' Panoramio. This is a geolocation-oriented photo sharing mashup.  Accepted photos can be accessed through in Google Earth and Google Maps.  New photos are added at the end of each month.

Google Cultural Institute allows one to discover exhibits & collections from museums and archives from around the world.  Explore cultural treasures.  Collections include: arts, historic moments, world wonders, and much, much more.

CultureGrams allows one to experience the world through cultural information.  Videos, articles, maps, audio recordings, and other learning materials available on more than 200 countries.   

Explora is geared toward middle and high school students. Browse by geography, current issues and more.  Audio available for articles.

Funk & Wagnalls is another encyclopedia with articles, maps, pictures, and other educational resources.  It allows the user the capability to listen to articles or translate them to another language.
