Based on experiences from the author's real life, Junior, the main character, decides to take his future into his own hands.  Growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation leaves behind the familiar "rez" school.  Instead he attends an all-white farm town school where there are only two Indians, Junior and the school mascot.  Not only does Junior stick out because he is Indian, but he was also born with an enormous head, gigantic feet, crazy eyes, ten extra teeth, a stutter, and a lisp.  How's that for troublesome?  This book not only tells the story of adolescence but his attempt to break away from a destiny of disparity.  Don't let that scare you though!  The book is hilarious as you just never know what is going to pop out of Junior's mouth.  The cartoon drawings by Junior also add lots of humor.

Five out of five stars from Mrs. Weideman!
